Spice it up

Spices! Oh how I love thee. From everyday flavors to fancy-shmancy culinary delights, a kitchen is hardly complete without a collection of herbs and spices. This DIY wall-mounted magnetic spice rack featured on The Kitchn is a great way to store your ingredients in accessible and aesthetically pleasing way. If you’re concerned about the amount of light exposure (which may hasten the expiration of spices), this system would also work well on the inside of a pantry door, or with opaque jars. No patience for gluing magnets to your lids? Try picking up a ready-to-use magnetic spice rack kit with glass honeycomb-shaped jars from Gneiss Spice on Etsy.

If you’re the kind of person (like me) that will go out and buy a new spice just to try a recipe, I’m sure you’ve amassed quite an arsenal by now. Using an entire supply of one uncommon spice can be a challenge if you aren’t sure how else to use it! I did some searching and came up with a bit of inspiration for dusting off the jars in the back of your rack. Below are some ideas for meals and snacks to help you incorporate a little more spice into your life (sorry, couldn’t help myself).

A Post-less Wednesday!

No post again? Egads!

We’re working on moving ourselves over to a new host, so updates have been lighter than usual. Excited about getting everything set up in our new home! More features, more functionality, and definitely more posts. Get pumped! I know I am.

A Crazy Week!

Apologies for the lack of posts this past week!

It’s been more hectic than usual, but I had the pleasure of working on both the Martha Weddings 15th anniversary party with Matthew Robbins Design and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation Kids for Kids Family Carnival with the lovely crew at David Stark Design

Tons of fun, but barely any time for sleep, let alone blogging!

We’ll be back to our normal posting pace starting tomorrow, so get psyched!

Best,
Anjelica

Happy Rainbows

I am obsessed with these found objects put together by artists Gilles Cenazandotti and Thierry Lede with their Clear Art Planet project which aims to clean the world beaches. Once I had an interview at a super-cool design firm and someone had a huge wall of found objects just like this. Instantly jealous! It would take me a lifetime to put something together like this.

I’m A Fool For Gold

I’m like a raccoon, I like shiny things. No, wait, I covet shiny things.

Case in point: I found this old Wonder Woman photo and I could NOT stop looking at her accessories (I might also have Halloween costumes on the mind!). Look at that eagle on her chest! Very glamorous and badass at the same time.

They say when you wear metallics, you ought to offset them with neutral colors so you don’t look like you’re headed to Studio 54, when you’re actually headed to your office. Since my gold itch is hampered by such stringent regulations, I went ALL OUT with this inspiration board!
